Terms & Conditions

Introductory

  1. Alpacard is an online game, website, and application developed and operated by @makr_plays. Collectively, we refer to this as the "Game".
  2. Your use of the Game is subject to these Terms & Conditions. We may change the Terms & Conditions at any time.

Operation

  1. We take great care in the operation of our Game, but we cannot guarantee it is correct, complete, available, or free of errors.
  2. We may change the Game at any time, at our own discretion, without prior notice.
  3. It is not allowed in any way whatsoever to modify the Game, make (electronic) copies, take over, reuse, or otherwise reproduce or make public any aspect of the Game without our explicit permission.

Payment

  1. The Game is free to play.
  2. Anyone that would like to support the operation and development of the Game financially, is able to do so with a donation via StreamElements. Donating is voluntary, non-refundable, final, and does not constitute purchase of any goods or services.

Privacy Policy

Player Profile

  1. For most users, Alpacard operates with anonymous Player Profiles identified by a unique random hash. This random hash is stored as a persistent cookie in the users' browser, allowing the user to return to their games. If the user clears or loses their cookies, or tries accessing the Game on a different device, it is not possible to re-authenticate with the previous Player Profile.
  2. Special users may have a Player Profile identified by email address and a password. This personal information is encrypted or hashed.
  3. Users are able to set a nickname when joining a game. This nickname is saved with the Player Profile for subsequent visits.
  4. We store the last-used IP address and technical device information on a Player Profile and use this information to generate anonymously derived usage statistics. This allows us to approximate a users' location to see what countries Alpacard is played in, and to analyse the technical device information to summarise what sort of devices players use to quantify development decisions.
  5. Anonymous Player Profiles and associated data are automatically deleted 12 months after they were active.

Game-related Data

  1. [During ALPHA] We collect diagnostic information about each game. This information includes the technical information about the progress in a game and the different interactions taken by each player. The goal of this data collection is to have detailed information available for debugging problems and understanding how players interact with the game. [After ALPHA, we will minimise this data collection.]
  2. For each game, we save the game state. The game state includes information about which players have certain cards, player nicknames during the game, player scores, and other technical information that is necessary to "load" a game.
  3. We store a leaderboard for each game, showing players' ranks, scores, and when they joined a game. This information is tied to the anonymous Player Profile and is kept as long as the Player Profile is kept, i.e. for up to 12 months after the Player Profile was last active. We may eventually provide a public listing of this leaderboard.
